Weekly Wednesday Random's

1. I'm trying out the whole "Weekly Wednesday" name. I kind of like it. We'll see if it sticks. ;)

2. I got my Kelly's Kids kit today! Oh my gosh! I love it all! And I really think the boys stuff is extra-cute too! I love the little jon-jon's and the bubble's!

3. We did a mini photo shoot with some of the clothes in Jenna's size. I will post some on Friday, so you'll have to check back. Jenna did an amazing job - she was so into it! She even said, "Let's go outside and take pictures." ha. Anyway, I love having my own personal photographer. I think I'll keep him. ;)

4. And someone else is really enjoying Jenna's chair by the window. Sometimes I think he should be a cat.

5. We had a fun St. Patty's playdate today. This was really the best picture I got, but I didn't take too many. Anyway, see Jenna's shirt??? Remember it??? I won't give too much away in case I post more pics of her in it on the actual St. Patrick's day.

6. I think I've already read 5 books this year! We got a library membership at the beginning of this year, and well, since I had to pay for it (because we live out of the city limits), I feel like it should definitely be used! Anyway, I don't know why I didn't do this a long time ago!

7. I'm looking forward to May. A few exciting things are happening then, with one of those being Jenna's dance recital! They are dancing to a Rapunzel song and she is so excited about it! And the dress will make a perfect dress-up outfit afterwards!

10 on 10 - March 2012: Birchbox, a birthday and more!

10 on 10 - 1o pictures for the 10th of the month!

Ok, this first one might be cheating just a bit, but I took this picture early this morning so I'm counting it. ;) Anyway, last night our MOPS group had a silent auction and this is what I won! I was really wanting the yellow frame and I'm so excited I got it! However, the yellow frame also came with the baby basket, so that stuff I'll be either using as gifts and/or giving away. Here's the etsy link to the frame seller. I also really liked the owl baby blanket. I bought that same owl print in something else last year and I thought this blanket was super cute! (And no, it doesn't mean I have any baby news.)

This morning, Jenna was watching Tangled on the couch and we saw her holding Sophie. Sophie looks about scared to death, but tolerates a lot. Maybe one day Jenna will actually have a dog that loves her back....sigh....

Around noon we went to a birthday party at....wait for it.....yep...the Maccaroo gym. This is Ava - she has been in Jenna's dance class since the beginning and just a few months ago, we found out that her dad is also a doctor and knew JM. They also attend the same church that we do. Again, small town connections. :)
Our March family photo.

After the birthday party, we went to the mall so JM could get his hair cut and to also see my mom for a bit.

Jenna loves these mall trampolines!
And his shorter new 'do.

After the mall, we all went to see The Lorax. Cute movie!

Papa Murphy's pizza for dinner! Ugh, we realized we had pizza at the party for lunch, a large popcorn at the movie + large drink's, and then we just ate pizza again! Yes, I feel like I need a detox.

And one of my favorite things of the month happened today! My Birchbox arrived! This one is a fun one too! I got Essie pink glitter nail polish (which I think Jenna will love!), a sample of Kate Spade Twirl perfume, Kerastase hair oil (I've been wanting to try this!), Tarte lip tint (not sure about the pink color, but I love Tarte products, so we'll see!), and the blue thing is supposed to be a hair tie (ummm...looks like a ribbon to me, but maybe I'll try it in Jenna's hair.) Birchbox has been tons of fun and I still thin it's a complete bargain at $10 a month! Check it out here!
Fun day!!!

Fashion Friday - Matilda Jane

Woo-Hoo I think we are back for more Fashion Friday's. Well, we, meaning probably still just mostly Jenna again. ;)

Anyway, in January I re-discovered my love for ebay. Seriously it's been a few years and now instead of selling, I've been more on the buying side. I got this super cute Matilda Jane outfit along with just a few other things off ebay that I will have to post some other time!

Anyway, I *think* this is called the Maggie dress with the House of Clouds seaside straightees. I'm not a die-hard MJ fan, so I could be wrong on that? Anyway, super cute and it's a perfect "Jenna type" kind of outfit.

(Excuse the crazy face - that's just her personality.) ;)

And I think next week I should be getting my Kelly's Kids trunk, so next Friday will probably be a fashion show of that!

Big Wheel Day!

I really love Jenna's pre-school. I, honestly, just chose it based purely on a few recommendations before we even moved here. But, turns out they were all right! And it's kind of sad because I realize how much more I like this school than the one she went to in KC.

Anyway, every year they have a "Big Wheel Day." The kids all bring their 3 wheeled bike and ride around the gym to different stations. (I think it may have also had something to do with raising money for St. Jude's??) I also think I heard someone say they've been doing this for the last 25 years! Anyway, it was seriously one of the cutest "school type" things I've ever seen.

So, they all kinds of different stations - beauty shop, tattoo parlor, dress-up, pizza shop, the YMCA, car wash, bike repair shop, pet shop, art center, grocery store, wood-working area - So many fun things and I'm sure I'm missing a few here.

The parents worked at the different stations. I picked the Pet Shop. My center was incredibly easy. Not much to it at all. Exactly what I like. ha. Although, I did have about 4 boys come in and they started playing "tornado" and would try to get in the tent. It's been awhile since I've heard that game again. Sad. Only in Joplin.

Oh, this one was really neat. Here they could pretend to be meteorologists and play with the weather map. And they could watch themselves on the tv as they were doing it.

Cute, designated parking spaces for their bikes. (Jenna's is on the far left.)

Playing at the pizza shop - one of her favorite places there! She also really loved the grocery store and the (pretend) McDonald's.

Painting - Afterwards, they hung up everyone's work on the wall.

They included a time for a "drive-in" movie. They even handed out popcorn and 7-up. The movie was called "I stink" and it was about garbage trucks and they all thought it was hilarious.

And not the best picture, but I had to snap it quickly before Jenna wanted it back. This is from the McDonald's center and I thought it was "pinterest-kind-of-cute." The hamburger is 2 nilla wafers with the "meat" being an oreo cookie held together by red icing. The "fries" are those shoestring kind. Seriously?!? How cute is that?

Such a cute day and so glad that I was able to see it all!

Weekly Wednesday Random Stuff

1. I feel so boring lately. Well, maybe just "more boring" on the blog is what I should say. I still feel like I have a lot of post ideas in my head. I just don't know how to form them and then I still struggle with what all I want to share. One thing I've learned is that it's usually best to just keep things inside - so I guess my blog is reflecting that now. ha.

2. Look at my big girl today at the dentist! This was her 2nd time to go, but this time she just seemed so much more grown up. They did the x-rays today for the first time and I watched proudly as she completely followed their directions. But then she got in the chair and was completely fixated on the tv - but she still did good and most importantly, NO cavities!!!

3. And big sigh.......This is the view out of my kitchen window. I've loved being able to look completely down the street and I figured they would probably add houses to our side of the street sooner or later....I was just hoping it would still be much later. But, looks like my view will changing soon.

4. This was us on the couch just a few minutes ago. Jenna cuddling next to me and Sophie licking my hand. Love it. One of the posts I'd love to write about is just how close Jenna and I are. I know that may sound silly, but I think this has been the silver lining in not having another baby right now. Anyway, well there ya go - there's my snippet of a hopeful future blog post. :)
5. I'm loving the warmer temps lately (even though we are getting lots of wind!) But, it's also making me want to shop! Again, probably a good thing I'm away from all the temptation in KC, but I think I may have to call for a day trip soon. ;)

6. JM taught a lightroom class last night. I'm pretty sure he loved it and was totally in his element there. (Lightroom is photo processing software.)

7. And my laptop is about to die....so I'm taking that as a sign to just end it here. :)

Insta-Friday

I'm back for another Insta Friday link up!

life rearranged

Jenna got some tattoo's in her Christmas stocking. She decided to cover her feet in them on Monday.

75 degrees in the end of February?!?!

This is what JM looks like asleep.
Seriously.

I rearranged our living room this week. I brought Jenna's pink chair up from downstairs and she's been using it for every other reason besides just sitting in it. (P.S. that was Tuesday so she's wearing her gymnastics leotard.)

We had a storm here late one night. I tried to take a picture out the back door but I got the reflection of the dining room instead. I know it's not "technically" right, but I thought it was kind of a neat shot.

On Thursday, I volunteered with Art Feeds. The kids at Irving Elementary (a "new" Irving, their original school was destroyed in the tornado) painted on the wall outside. The kids were really amazing - I, sadly, forgot what it was like to just talk to older kids. Oh, and I also made the news. You can see the video and story here. Oh, and this was also the very beginning of the wall - at the end, it was almost completely covered with paint and it looks really cute!
And today, we went to a fun Dr. Seuss playdate.

It's been a good week and I'm glad it's now March! Happy Weekend!

Lunch with Melissa!

We drove down to Rogers today to have lunch with Melissa and her little baby girl, Ava. The last time I saw her was May 22nd! (And yes, I remember every thing about that day!)

Anyway, we met up at Mimi's at Rogers. Jenna absolutely loved "playing" with Ava. She loved feeding her and trying to help out.

And this is another not-so-great picture of me - but this is the only one we got of the 2 of us AND Jenna took it. Not too shabby for a 4 year old taking it, huh? I sometimes really think she may have a future in photography….sigh…I wonder why? :)

It was a fun day and I'm glad I got to see them! I really do love being within driving distance of so many people!
