We have tile floors throughout so I find myself constantly swiffering them. Today, I also noticed the top part of the baseboards were also getting very dusty/dirty. I have the basic type swiffer - and I use the dry cloth first and then go back with a wet cloth after it.
So, I took my handy dandy swiffer and turned it on its side and ran it across the baseboard. The dust came off! I'm not sure why I hadn't thought of that before!
Ok, now, I'm not the cleaning goddess that I really wish I were, so if you all know about this little trick, then just excuse me. :)
But, it worked for me! To see more neat ideas, visit Rocks In My Dryer.

Baseboards aren't self-cleaning???
Dang it!
Apparently I have some cleaning that needs to be done! ;)
Great trick! And you're already there sweeping the floor, so it doesn't really take any extra time.
I love that idea. I swear I dusted the house on Monday and it is already dusty again!! UGH!!! And I always dread cleaning the baseboards!! Being the smart person I am, I just get on the floor w/ a damp washcloth!! What was I thinking!!!
that is a great idea...i only wish our baseboards were self cleaning.have a great day :)
Unfortunately, I think our baseboards are more than just dusty... they are nasty! I think I'm going to have to get on my hands and knees and SCRUB. :(
Great idea! I have memories from my childhood of being on my hands and knees with a rag and a can of pledge. Can't remember if it was punishment of some sort.
My baseboards are a bit dusty, now that you mention it. Want to come over? ;-)
This just made me laugh - not because there's anything wrong with your method (terrific idea, by the way), but because our puppy is doing a perfectly fine job of cleaning the baseboards for us right now!
I kid, of course. He spends more time cleaning the floor.
