Why do I even bother?

I thought it would be fun for Jenna to try and finger paint in the tub. I thought it would be something new to do and of course, easy clean up! But nope, she was not amused at all by it. So in less than about 3 minutes she was out of the tub and ready to move on. Do you think she's just too young for finger painting or is there a better way to do it?

So, I scratched my plans for doing something new and different today and we just went back to playing with her regular toys. And then I wondered, along with trying new things like finger painting, why should I even bother with all the cute winter clothes? For the past 2 weeks, almost every day (m-f) we've spent all day at home and she's been in pajamas and then one of my all time faves - t-shirts and babylegs! So, I guess I shouldn't even worry about buying her winter clothes! Ha!

And you know what made her the happiest? Playing with the simple Christmas bows. She loved those.

And then just because every puppy needs a bow attached.

Don't give up, I think she's probably just a bit too young for finger paints :-)

Trust me, one day she will LOVE finger painting. I highly recommend the Color Wonder finger paints when that day comes.

Yeah, don't give up. Finger painting will come in due time.

We're the same way with clothes. If we aren't going anywhere, we lounge in PJs. Ali even has a cute plush robe now for our days at home! She also has that same "Heartbreaker" shirt! I can't look at it without thinking about the Benatar song....

I guess somewhere around 2 or 3 they realize painting is fun. Last summer Brinley was banned from play-doh/crayons because she still tried to eat them! Not until this fall was she mature enough to play with them. Don't worry, one day she'll make lots of messes :)
And my only investment in the new baby's wardrobe? sleepers, onsies & pants because I know we won't get beyond those most days.

The paint is a texture thing. From my days working with one year olds, some of them really enjoyed it and some really did not enjoy the texture. But we kept introducing the paint to them and they eventually got used to it and really enjoyed the project. Don't give up!!! And I love the babylegs!!

Hopefully you'll be out and about soon to show off those cute outfits! We've missed you!

I wonder the same thing! We have a shirt & BabyLegs baby, too, and I'm a jammy person. :) It just makes things easier all around.
