photo 91: Jenna's laundry

So instead of putting away Jenna's laundry, I took a picture of it. Real exciting around here today, I tell you!

Now for bonus points, can you correctly identify her clothing? :)

I'll update who gets the closest!

Our Sunday together

Lots of pics today... I'd actually have more, but I think it would be overkill. We had a very fun day together and I've been having so much fun taking pics and documenting our days that of course, this one is no exception. :)
1st stop - Lunch at Quizno's
Then we had to make a stop by JM's other home.

And we went to the beach today!!! We went with this family. They are the very nice ones that kept Jenna overnight for us when I had my appendix out. We've been doing a lot with them lately and it's sad because now we're going to be leaving in a couple of months. And they're moving to OKC so at least we won't be too far away, but once again, we'll have to say good-bye to more people. :(

But back to the pics - we took the doggies today! I've been feeling bad because they've been confined to this house and backyard and nothing else for the past couple of weeks, so they finally got to get out!

Yes, we'll miss the beach. (But, I'd still take the shopping and stuff to do over the beach any day.)

I just absolutely love this pic. I think I might have gotten it when he wasn't looking. Isn't is so sweet? This little girl is going to be so incredibly lucky to have her daddy love her so much. She is going to wrap him around her little finger.

And when we got home, she was exhausted. She fell asleep on the 2 minute car ride back home from the beach so we just left her in her carseat and she slept like that for 2 hours. :)

Our Saturday together

JM was post-call today and I was tired from getting up with Jenna last night so we didn't start our day together til mid-afternoon. We went to eat lunch at Cici's pizza (somewhere different to go.)
After lunch, I did a little BIRTHDAY shopping. (hmm....who could it be for??) I went to this cute little gift store and the woman was showing me hand-painted wine glasses (and no that's not what I got, but...) she said something along the lines of - but you're too young to drink wine anyway. Gosh, I thought I was done hearing this. I've heard it all my life - I look younger than I really am. So, I responded with a "I'm 27. I have a baby." And then I barely talked to her after that. She must have felt bad because afterwards she said something about how I'll enjoy it when I'm older.... Whatever. Maybe. But it definitely doesn't make me feel good about NOW.

And what day together would be complete with out a stop by best buy? Definitely not one in the world o'JM.

We did a few other things - sans pics. It also started raining so that put a damper on things. But tomorrow is always a new day!

Oh, and then we were driving home and the car next to me was from Don Carlton in Tulsa. (sigh....)

Jenna at naptime

John Michael and I both have pictures of when we were little sleeping with our glo-worms, so of course Jenna had to have one too!
I'm getting good at knowing when she is tired and wants a nap before she actually falls asleep. I can put her in the crib awake and then she falls asleep on her own (which I'm very proud of by the way!) But before she falls asleep at naptime, she usually takes the paci and I play some type of music (glo-worm, mobile, projector thingy, or aquarium.) She doesn't get the music at most bedtimes though. (I really want her to be able to fall asleep naturally on her own - without any "help.")

And a little bit later, I went back in and found her like this. She always spits the paci out and moves things around or kicks off the blanket. (And no, she doesn't get the blanket at night either.) Doesn't she look so sweet sleeping? :)

Friday fill-ins

Ok, so I found something new I want to do on Fridays. :)
Friday Fill-Ins

Friday Fill-In #65
1. Some relationships are meant to last forever.

2. (I have no idea) is the last concert I saw; it was forgettable, obviously!

3. Spring should be the longest season.

4. Oh no! I forgot to get the laundry out.

5. I've recently started using bloglines and love it!

6. JM never fails to make me smile.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to (nothing really), tomorrow my plans include hopefully spending time with JM and Sunday, I want to maybe go to the beach!

Photo 86 - Yay!

YAY Jenna! She managed to sleep through the night last night. (from around 9 to 8). She has still been on and off at this sleeping game, but I really think we're making progress. This whole sleep issue has been much harder than I thought. There comes a limit where I just got emotionally and physically drained from getting up every night and just didn't know how much longer I could keep on. I also realize there are a ton more factors that are influencing her sleep - how much she eats before she goes to bed, nap/awake times, and the "magic" time for us seems to be in between 9-9:30.
So, now I can only hope she keeps this up on more of a consistent basis. I'm a much better mommy when I've had a full nights sleep. :)

WFMW: Bloglines!

Ok, so a lot of times I think I'm the last person to find out about things and obviously this is no exception -
Another blog friend told me about Bloglines and I haven't looked back since! I have become addicted to reading blogs and this site just tells you when people update theirs so you aren't constantly checking them. A HUGE time saver! Seriously, why didn't I do this a long time ago? Now, I don't even want to tell you how many blogs I have listed there so far.
But, I highly suggest some sort of feeder/subscription/etc... instead of just clicking away at blogs all day long!
Bloglines is what's working for me this week! What's working for you? To see more neat ideas, visit Rocks In My Dryer.

photo 85 - My Old Navy bargain!

A couple of days ago, I found this shirt for Jenna at Old Navy on clearance for 1.97! I got a 12-18 but now I'm wondering if I should have gotten the 18-24 to be on the safe side? I think it'll be adorable for next year and then after St. Patty's day, it'll make a great "play" or sleep shirt too! I love Old Navy bargains!

day 84 - My Mondays

Not much is going on around here today - Mondays are usually my stay at home all day, get stuff done type of day. So on the agenda today is about 3 loads of laundry and other random things. But weirdly enough, I love these Mondays. It's the newness of another week and knowing things are getting accomplished today. And no, I'm never bored being a SAHM. :)

Day 83 - Happy Easter!

Happy Easter!
Last Easter was the day we told both of our families (at the same time) that I was pregnant! And now a year (almost) later, we have a healthy and beautiful little girl. Wow.

Isn't she cute?

We went riding around this afternoon and almost everything was closed. Lowe's was open, so I suggested we go in there just to walk around and actually do something. I love all of their flowers outside and I just love looking at them. I would really like to plant my own flowers one day in my own yard, complete with real grass (and not a rock yard). They had some really pretty flowers there!
Surprisingly, today was also very cold outside. For a place that is as warm as it is down here, Easter has got to be one of the worst days to be so cold.

We were looking at paint chips just for fun and JM saw the lights and then found a way to start talking about photography via the paint chip lights. Crazy guy can turn anything into a conversation about photography. :)

Photo 82 - Is it Cactus or Cacti?

Either way, this is something else that is different about living down here. I don't think I've ever lived in a city before that these around and I seriously doubt the next town will have these.

Day 81 - Jenna's shots and another first!

Jenna's first time eating rice cereal. We think she actually liked it. (I just hope it makes her sleep!)

Pretty Band-Aids for the chubby legs! She had her 4 month check-up/shots today. She weighs 13.7 and is 25 inches. She is actually above average in heighth (so she is tall for her age.) When I had my ultrasounds, they commented that she was tall, so we'll see, I guess...

Daddy was able to come down and be with us too!

Jenna's Jenna bear 18 week pic

At 18 weeks (just over 4 mos. now)
*She is sleeping longer through the night, but I don't think we're 100% all the way there. (She woke up the last 2 nights...NOT fun!) I realized I was making her overtired by keeping her up when she was sleepy. I'm now reading the Healthy habits of sleep, happy child book.
*Pulls my hair at every chance she's near it.
*becoming a lot more animated - smiles at JM when he comes home
*loves to look around and take everything in
*still seems very calm and easy-going.

Yum! Yum! Yum! I love girl scout cookies! Actually, I just love cookies of all kind! Can you tell which ones are my absolute favorites? They are the only ones I've even bother to open yet!
Did you get any girl scout cookies this year? Which ones are your faves?

Anyway, these are once again paintings done by my fabulous friend Melissa. I'm telling yall - she is seriously got some fantastic talent going on here. Don't you agree? (*COUGH, I think we should all leave her comments telling her how great her work really is...COUGH*)
She made this for one of her friends' kids' bathrooms. Wouldn't that be cute?
If you want to get in touch with her, email me and I'll give you her email. :)

WFMW: Getting discounts at Gap and ON

I didn't know this until after I had started working at Gap last year so I thought this might be something else neat to share. On every other customer's receipt prints out a discount survey. I know it's 10% at Old Navy but I think they changed the Gap one (and I haven't really been back there since I quit.)

So, anyway, whenever I'm at Old Navy and I'm making a purchase I always try to look and see if the customer that is ringing up then is going to get the survey or not. Then, I figure up if I would get it or not based on the every other customer rule. And then, if there is a long line, sometimes I will even step out of it for a minute, let someone in front, and get back in just to get the survey. (I'm sneaky...) :)

But every 10% helps right? :)
