Jenna's new stuff!

Jenna's newest stuff!

This is seriously THE cutest dress ever. Immediately after I saw Kelly's post, I knew I had to have one. And five minutes later, I found it and bought it! It is sooooo cute!

First off, notice Jenna's shoes. They are her first "real" shoes (not including her Robeez). My mom and I bought them at the Stride Rite outlet today. I know they don't match the Baby Lulu ensemble, but I just wanted to put them on her tonight just for fun.
And next up, notice the new toys. They are our new Fisher Price ones! She really likes this roll around zoo thingy. It's really not something I would have probably picked out (because the animals just roll around on the track), but she has really played with it a lot today! Also, see the table behind her - that's another new one!

JM got this put together right before it was bath/bed time but she really liked it for the time she played with. It is probably my absolute favorite one that we got. It's really cute. We still have the spinning pony to put together and that's it! I'll try and post a picture of all the toys later! It's been like Christmas here thanks to House Party!!!

Memories....

If you read my last post, you know we had a water leak in our storage closet. Since then, we've decided to put in a bunch of shelves and convert a lot of our cardboard boxes into these plastic totes.

Inside this tote is a lot of my old stuff that sadly a lot got wet and we had to go through. I thought about just throwing some of it away, but after looking at it, I just couldn't. Inside this box are college projects I slaved over, jr.high/hs/college yearbooks, articles and photos of Garrett, tupperware stuff that Nanny gave me that I probably won't use but probably will never get rid of, college papers that I got a lot of praise for, school play papers, and so on and so on....You get the idea. It's a box chalk full of memories.

But, this box o'memories - Even though there are painful things in there that I could go without remembering, it's my box. I can get it out when I want to look at it and put it back it up when I'm ready to forget. I just can't get rid of anything in there.

After reading Christy's post from today, I realized that this weekend is our 10 year high school reunion. 10 years - it just seems insane. I knew this year is our 10 year mark, but I had no idea that this weekend is the reunion. Probably because I could care less about attending. You couldn't pay me enough to attend. (And no offense to any of the girls I graduated with that happen to read my blog.) :)

And as well as thinking of 10 years ago and our high school reunion, there are 3 things I realized I wish I would have known back then:

  1. None of this HS BS will really matter. It's not worth it.
  2. You will be happier than you could have ever imagined.
  3. Don't worry so much about boys. The true love of your life is someone you've always known was pretty darn special from the very beginning.

Anything you wish you would have known?

Where do you store your wrapping paper?

Once again, you can't really tell by the picture too much, but this is the ceiling in our basement storage room. We had a bit of water leak and it damaged some of our things. JM started to tell me my wrapping paper had gotten wet, and I thought NO....!!! (I bought a ton of wrapping paper at Target for 75% off a couple of months ago.) So anyway, my clever and creative husband came to the rescue again. :)

one of Sophie's favorite places

You can't tell too much by the picture, but this is underneath my desk. Sophie has declared it as her space lately and loves hanging out under there. We have just left the blanket under there so she can enjoy her neat little place!

What I'm looking forward to...

Things I'm looking forward to:
  1. cooler temps and wearing jeans again! And non-maternity jeans at that!
  2. Did I mention cooler temps? It feels like I've spent the last 18 months (give or take) in nothing but spring/summer. I'm really excited about having the seasons back (as silly as that sounds coming from MOI!)
  3. My mom visiting
  4. visting AR in a couple of weeks to see JM's side
  5. getting our fisher price toys in the mail. (I got box 1/3 today!) And our playdate as well!
  6. new tv shows! Greys, Desperate Housewives, Real Housewives of ATL, biggest loser, The Hills, and I'm sure there are more!
  7. Jenna getting older to do more things.
  8. getting Jenna's monogrammed dress in the mail soon
  9. Jenna's future modeling jobs (yes, seriously!)
  10. fall leaves, pumpkins, mums, candy corn, and did I mention cooler temps? :)

What are you looking forward to?

ETA: JM asked me if my jeans were wet. No, silly, that's the shadow. He also asked me why I took a picture of my feet. Sorry, I know it's a cheesy photo, but in my mind it all made sense. (Now, can you please agree with me so he knows he's wrong??) :)

more, but not enough

Jenna has gotten more hair, but I think she could still use a lot more. :)

the tights...

I had a couple of people asking about the tights so I thought I would just post here. They are from Gymboree's Cupcake Cutie (last year's) line. If you really want some, I'm sure you can find them on ebay. Oh - And it was really cool here in the morning but then as soon as it got too hot in the afternoon, I took them off of her. So, we're not completely in tight weather yet, but it was fun for the morning. :)

Day at the Farm!!

We spent our Sunday afternooon at a local farm/petting zoo. It was a really neat place. They had lots of goats, horses, a bald eagle, bobcat, prairie dogs, rabbits, cows, a little flower garden area, and a neat little playground area too. I'm loving the fact that this area that we live in is so kid-friendly. There's definitely more here to do than anywhere else I've ever lived. Oh, and the best part is that this place is free to get into. You just pay for activities like feeding the animals, kid-fishing, a pony ride, things like that - all things that Jenna was too little for anyway. One of the goats got too close to her (I think it was probably trying to lick her hand) and she screamed! After that, she wasn't too keen on the goats anymore.

I think the picture above is going to be one of my all-time favorites!

And this pic just cracks me up. :)

A photo-filled day

We have had quite a busy photo-filled day! (ok, when it's not a photo-filled day around here, then you should worry....) :)
Our first stop was Gymboree at 8:45 this morning. They have an "open play" time from 8:45-9:45 on Saturday mornings so I thought it would be a neat location for JM to take some cute pics of Jenna since it is so colorful there. (And technically, I think gymbo calls it "playgym" or something like that, but because of my experience at Angel Academy, I will probably always call it open play - just so you know.) Anyway, JM even got in on the playing. :)

She was so tired after Gymboree, she probably slept in her stroller for over an hour. And, I just can't resist a cute sleeping picture. (And dontcha just love the tights?) I *heart* them!

So, at 10 a.m. we headed over to the Plaza for Scott Kelby's first International Photo Walk. John Michael's photography meetup group chose the plaza as their location and they walked around taking photos. It's kind of neat that people all over the world were doing the same thing today. (And hey, who can resist another day at the Plaza?)

Later that night, we headed over to Cinzetti's for dinner. Jenna got her first ever bite of mashed potatoes there. :) And on the way out, we found another fountain to play in. Yes, we have a million fountain pics - she absolutely loves water.

It was a fun day! But we're all really tired now!!!!

Top teeth!!

Jenna is getting 4 top teeth in. They are hard to see when she is sitting up so I had to get her to lay down and then try and make her laugh so you can see them. I really had no idea that this many teeth could come in all together at the same time. Aren't they cute?

Jenna's fun-filled day!

Today was a good day for Jenna! She went to a baby playgroup at 10 am and then at 1:30 we went to Gymboree - so she was very social today! Yep, that's her! She definitely doesn't seem shy. She goes after exactly what she wants and she even was going up to some of the other mommies today too. And at Gymbo, she doesn't even want to sit by me during the circle time. While the other babies are sitting there nicely, she's ready to crawl after something. Again, this leads me to believe that she is just like her daddy! HA!
Anyway, It's really fun to watch her little personality develop in public situations like this.
And when we got home this afternoon, I receieved this awesome box from Whitney. I seriously have the best of friends.

(And yes, same day - we just had to change clothes!)

Jenna really loves the photo books. Thank you!!!! :)

a few things around my home...

I'm not sure I really have a defined decorating style - I like a lot of different things at different times. That's probably why I don't consider myself to be a good decorator. But also - I've really never tried that hard to really decorate either - so that could also be part of my problem. Maybe one day...

Anyway, the following are just a few things around here that I thought I could share.

Remember that vase I got on clearance a while back at Target? My mom gave me these dried flowers for it. I actually like it. I think it provides a little bit of drama to our front guest bathroom.

This canister set is by far one of my favorite things - I don't think I'll ever get rid of it. I loved it when I first saw it. Now, I do think this SCREAMS me!!!

And lastly, another thing I really like - my Vicki Carroll plate. I also received this as a wedding gift from James K.'s mom.

Sunday shopping

We found another fabulous shopping center today so we spent most of our day there. Right before we actually entered the outdoor mall, John Michael spotted a Famous Dave's. He got so excited because we use to eat at the one in Tulsa all the time and of course there wasn't one in TX, so he hadn't eaten there since Tulsa. (I've been to the one in Rogers with my mom since then.) So our first stop was Famous Dave's!

I just thought this was a cute pic of Jenna and her daddy!

Jenna liked the dinosaurs! There is a Build a Bear dinosaur version there. I've never seen one like it before but it was really neat!

There were even more fountains - it took a little bit for Jenna to warm up to touching the water, but after a bit, she loved it!

And our last stop was BAM - and I know this pic is blurry, but I still thought it was sweet!

And immediately after she got strapped in, she was out. Of course she didn't want to sleep and miss out on the fabulous shopping so she had to wait!

Pictures from the park

We went to the park today to meet up with some of JM's new photography friends. This park is really neat - there is a playground, water sprinkler park area, pond with way too many ducks, picnic table area, and tons of lawn open area. It's a really nice place. So, these pictures are all of our day at the park!

Jenna in her new stroller!

We weren't really prepared for the sprinklers, so I just stripped her down to the diaper. I sat her down on the concrete and she didn't seem to enjoy it too much, but she liked watching the other kids! It's a really neat place and I bet next year she'll probably love to walk through them!

And everytime we were are with someone else, I like to get a picture of the 3 of us together. It's not like we get pictures of the 3 of us all the time together now, so it's nice to get them while we can!
