Finished book #3 - The Godmother by Carrie Adams

I finally finished book #3 (my new years resolution) the other day. I read The Godmother by Carrie Adams. It was probably my least favorite book so far. I felt like there were lots of times when I had to read just so I could finish it, if I wouldn't have felt that way, I would have probably stopped way earlier on. From my opinion, there were just way too many characters to keep up, way too many little life messages, and way to much to think about to just even be enjoyable. Now, it finally did get better much closer to the end, but it took a long ways! I did want to know what happened in the end - but I still felt like I was left hanging a bit especially with the main character.
Anyone have any suggestions for book #4? I obviously like girly and light reads! BUT, I do also Jodi Piccoult too!

Sorry, I'm in a Twilight rut. ;o) Let me know if you find a good one!

Have you read The Accidental Mother? I thought it was cute and enjoyed it. I cannot think of the names of any others I have read recently..

I like Jodi Piccoult, too. And Susan Wiggs, Danielle Steele, and I used to love me some Lavryle Spencer. I love Maeve Binchy, Npra Roberts and Fern Michaels. I have an at home stash of romance novels...I am always reading something. But I generally stick to the romance novels...the really trashy ones...

I recommend any thing by Mary Kay Andrews. Hussy Fit is probably my favorite that I've read of hers thus far. The Friday Night Knitting Club was also a good read. The Secret Life of Bees was good too.

Oops- the name of the book is Hissy Fit not Hussy

"A Hopeless Romantic, " by Harriet Evans is really good. If you're wanting something girlie. The Twilight series is really good. Very addictive. Anything by Marian Keyes like Lucy Sullivan's Getting Married, Angels, and The other side of the story. Next time you're in town stop by and grab some.

I love Janet Evanovich. I'm reading Plum Spooky at the moment - hilarious! Her books are pretty raunchy at times though, lol. I need some book suggestions too!

I like a good Nora Roberts but also enjoyed The secret life of Bees (i still need to watch the movie) and The Accidental Mother.

How about My Best Friend's Girl or In Her Shoes (if you didn't see the movie) that's about as current as I am.

Well...I read Olive Kitterege last month for our book club. It was a series of short stories that are all connected by the same character, Olive Kitterege. I recommend it! Elizabeth Strout is the author.

We're reading All the Pretty Horses by Cormack McCarthy this month. I'm not sure if I'm going to get through it or not.
