Last year's big gift for Jenna was this Fisher Price house. It was a huge hit! She still, to this very day, plays with it a couple of times a week. And wow - look a the difference in how much she has grown from last year to this year! Is there anything your kids got last year that they are still playing with this year?
So, last year, I wrapped up the big box for her and then we (ummm...I mean JM) assembled it after she opened up the box.
This year's big gift is going to be this Step 2 New Traditions Play Kitchen. Oh my gosh - I think I may be more excited about this than anything! This year, I have suggested that we (umm...again, I mean John Michael) put it together tonight after she goes to bed and then see if she notices it and her reaction the next morning. Do you assemble toys and things the night before Christmas or after they open the box?
We really haven't meant to get her a "big" gift every year - it's just kind of happened that way. Next year, we may be out of space for any more big gifts! And I know it's truly not about the gifts, but having Jenna has really changed everything!
Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!!

I found your blog a few days ago, but had to comment on this post. I don't have children, but my mother once told me of the craziness that ensued years ago when my dad had one night to assemble two Barbie Dreamhouses. Haha! I feel for dad's on Christmas Eve. The kitchen set is adorable and your daughter will love it! Merry Christmas!
At our house, "santa" puts pretty much everything together beforehand so they can play with it right away, and Santa doesn;t wrap gifts here either. (they do unwrap PLENTY at both sets of overindulgant gradnparents!) I would definitely assemble tonight--I think she will get more joy out of seeing it and getting to use it right off the bat than opening the box. Merry Christmas!!!
Everything is put together the night before. :)
My honey is putting together Madeline's kitchen right now! Ha ha, lucky guys!
We assemble (and lose lots of sleep) if it's something big ...like car or kitchen but left the trampoline in the box since we had to take it back to Tx anyway.
