Fun at the Park

It was so beautiful here today that we went to the park and met up with some friends. (I keep thinking about how funny it is that today it was so warm and nice here and this is probably what we would have thought was "cold" in Texas last year. ) And so everyone else had the same idea we did. The park was loaded with tons of kids. Jenna had tons of fun just walking around everywhere, but we constantly had to make sure that someone wasn't bumping into her.

The first two pictures are ones that I took. I realize they aren't the best, but I got really frustrated early on taking photos so I just quit. (like my method?) ha!) So, these were the best I got, so one of them will have to do as my photo of the day.

The tiny ones are JM's and I have no idea why they appearing so much smaller. He got some cute ones (as always!) so hopefully he'll blog some later!

We enjoyed our one warm day and tomorrow it's supposed to be cold again! Oh well, hopefully spring will hurry up and get here!

my girl...

This morning after Jenna's breakfast, I took her out of her highchair as usual, and turned my back for oh, say, 2 minutes....I always put the dog food on the counter now (poor doggies have to eat when Jenna eats or naps.) Because every single time it is down for a second, she goes straight for it. And this time she beat me. It is such a pain picking up little bits of dog food off the floor...

And during naptime, I did some cleaning and forgot to close the cabinet door. So, of course, I hear her quiet in the kitchen again and I go see what she is up to and this is what I find.

So, Mommy was completely off her game today.
But anyway, I always thought that I was going to have a little girl, but the little girl I pictured was this innocent, perfect little girl that never did anything wrong - never got into anything, didn't like to make messes, didn't throw a fit, well you get the idea... HAHA on me!! She's spunky and curious and full of life and I love her little personality so far - she reminds me a lot of JM. So, I have to say that even though she's nothing like I imagined she would be, she is absolutely better than I could have ever imagined. :)

more coupon shopping!

Remember my Target coupon mailers a couple of posts back? Well today I combined most of them with a manufacture (sp?) coupon and I saved $18 with my coupons! (and yes, it's all stuff I use regularly!) I also managed to get free Ocean Spray juice because there is a Target coupon (on their website) for a $1 off and there is a manu. coupon for $1 off and it's currently priced at 1.99! So, woot! Don't even know if I like the stuff seriously, but hey, it was FREE! Seriously, people, it's that easy!

my new love

Of course, Jenna has to sneak in the photo. :)

We got this a few days ago, and I really love it!

Inside opens up for tons of storage! Jenna's toys have a brand new home - and out of sight, at that!

I'm sure this will be a favorite of mine for years and years to come!

random weekend pics

Ok, well first off my pictures are out of order, but it's late and I'm not switching them now. Anyway, this is a really random post, but I figured why not...

Sunday- this was Jenna's birthday outfit - on the other side is a cupcake with her name under it and then it reverses to this side. I decided that she needed to get another wear out of it before she outgrows it, which is she rapidly outgrowing all of her other clothes lately. Anyway, I just love the monogram look and I really think she needs some more things before she starts to get too big for it!

Saturday - We became "one of those people with THE screaming baby in a restaurant." You know the type - where the kid throws a huge fit and other childless people are thinking, "if I had a kid, he/she would never act like that." Haha on me - because I'm sure I've thought that a time or 2 pre-Jenna. Well anyway, she just started screaming and throwing food every where. JM had to take her outside because nothing was calming her down. So then I went to get him and suggested she watch baby einstein on the iphone - this is our one magic trick that gets her in a magical quiet daze every single time and I'm dreading the day when this no longer works. Anyway, long story short - she hasn't been feeling well and she is also getting her back molars, so I think a combination of that and being in the car for 4 hours straight yesterday just put her over the top. Anyway, it was an experience and we'll just call it that.

And Friday - I've started trying to get her to using a spoon and bowl instead of just eating off the tray. Since she is my first, I guess I'm not sure when exactly she should be doing this, but I heard other babies were already trying it out, so of course I had too. I honestly didn't think she was ready for it, but she really loves trying to navigate the spoon, so I guess she is.

Anyway, hope yall had a good weekend!

not working...

I've noticed the ball popper hasn't been popping out the balls the last couple of days. Jenna absolutely loves pushing the red button and playing with it. So today, I finally examine it - and do you see it? She dropped her plastic lipstick (from the purse from Madison) in it. So needless, to say, it's working again and I'm back to picking up balls in every little corner. And Yep, that's my kid....

open gym playtime

Our gymboree class has started doing little playdates outside of gymboree, so today we met up at this community center. They have an open gym playtime and they are actually really close to where I live. They had lots of fun riding/push toys, slides, bounce house, tunnels, mats, and just lots of fun stuff! Jenna played so hard she fell asleep in the car - yep, I think we'll definitely have to go back there!

She's starting to walk more - still not 100% - but every day she seems to be walking more than the last day, so I don't think it'll be too much longer now til she's full force - and really, I can't wait for that. It can't be any worse than crawling!

First time in a wagon! She liked it for a little bit, but then she was ready to move on!

She loved these push/sit on toys!

And first time in one of these cars! She didn't care for it so much.

Anyway, she had a blast and she is at such a fun stage!

President Obama

What could be more fitting for the day than taking a photo of our new president? :) I'm excited to see what the future has in store for us all now. I do believe there will definitely be SOME type of positive changes - we can only move forward, right? I definitely hope that he lives up to all his hype. Most importantly, I'm excited that these changes happened during Jenna's time. And quite actually, the changes really occured before he was even elected. We even had 2 women running - how amazing is it going to be that we can now tell our daughters that they REALLY can be anything they want when they grow up. Even President. :)

Jenna was watching me stand in front of the tv with my camera so she hopped up in her chair (yes, she does this herself) and started watching for herself. I'm glad that I took the photo now because I can show her years from now what she was doing when our 44th president was making his speech. (And we were also in the midst of getting ready - so that's why she's not wearing pants!)

And this is her amazed by Aretha Franklin. Actually, I'm thinking she is wondering what the heck was on top of her head. (she had a huge bow on her hat, for those that didn't see.) She literally stayed like this for a few seconds.

Weekend pics

JM's mom was here this weekend, so we stayed busy the whole time. Anyway, really not much to say, but I wanted to blog a couple of cute photos anyway.

Eating at Panda Express (fast food chinese) with her stuffed panda.

First time on a carousel horse. (She rode the carousel in Corpus Christi, but not a horse.)

Shopping in the Disney store.
And who couldn't love a daddy that gets in on the gymboree action?

Anyway, it was a good long weekend here!

A Snow day (again...)

Today was another snow day here. So, this was the view of the sky this morning.

And this picture is showing up huge, so I may go back and delete it - but last January I blogged a picture of the beautiful South Texas sky. Well, what a difference, huh?? We've really been missing Texas lately (and yes, more than just the weather), but we still really love it here. Too bad we just can't have both.

And since we didn't leave today, we stayed in pj's all day. After Jenna woke up from her nap, she had this hair-do going on. For the whole day, she had that one top part of her hair just stick up straight - the entire day!!

Anyway, hope everyone has a good weekend!

that little red sticker...

If you haven't been to Target today, you should go like NOW! Toys are on clearance at 75% off and some others are 50% and 30%, but I'm sure those have got to go down too. I really wanted to get Biscuit but it's only 50% off and still at 75, it would be too much to spend on something so big I wouldn't even know where to put it - but Jenna loves looking at the box every time we go past it. She is still obsessed with dogs. Anyway, the lady in the check-out line in front of me got the dinosaur - and that was a lot bigger than sweet ole Biscuit.

But this is what I got - the little tikes game was the most at a whopping 2.48. I'm sure these things will be great to have in a year or two (or beyond...) They had tons more things, but we (well Jenna) doesn't really need anything.

But, anyway, you should go look!!

How much is too much?

I was cleaning out and re-organizing my hall closet on the top floor the other day. In the very back corner, I had tons of plastic bags - (Yes, we still get them at every store and yes, we use them for multiple things and I always re-cycle them in the end.) So, I started pulling them out, and oh my goodness, I kept pulling and pulling them out. I had them stored in other bags and I thought it was never going to end! So, this opened up my eyes a little back and I've started thinking that maybe I should make the switch to canvas totes (at least every now and then to get started.)
So, I wanted to know just how many I had. Because I'm telling you - it was absolute madness! So, I counted. And now here's your chance to say hi and take a guess on how many I had in there. The winner will just get the priviledge of knowing they made the right guess. (And c'mon, I just like comments....) :)
So take a guess, and I'll post the answer Thursday night.

can't think of a title....

Totally stole this from Christy. So, thanks C - hope you don't mind! :)

For Today…January 12, 2009

Outside my window… it's dark and cold out. (It even snowed for a few minutes earlier!)

I am thinking… I'm trying not to think anymore. It's my time after Jenna has gone to bed, and really, I'm tired of thinking.

From the learning rooms… JM and I both on the computer right now, so I'm going to say this is the learning room?

I am thankful for… John Michael and the fact that I didn't have to compete for him on the bachelor. (Can you tell what I'm watching?)

From the kitchen… semi-clean, with dishwasher going.

I am wearing… Gap lounge pants, t-shirt, and one of JM's pullovers.

I am reading... just got done today with the book in the picture.

I am hoping… for the best, but always thinking of the worst.

I am creating… my blog post right now

I am hearing… the crazy girls on the bachelor.

Around the house… tons of cleaning and laundry lately. I even re-organized the hall closet today!

One of my favorite things… not a thing - but this time now - when it's just JM and I and we are hanging out at night in our basement on the computers with the tv on.

A few plans for the rest of the week… gymboree, musical playdate, lunch date, gymbucks redemption, possible gymboree friends lunch on Friday, (Jenna and I are doing a lot lately!) more cleaning and JM's mom coming this weekend.

Here is a picture thought I am sharing with you… this is the book I finished as part of my New Year's resolution. So book 1 is out of the way and I won't start book 2 until it is officially February!

Jenna's piperlime shoes

I have always loved Piperlime. Tons of cute shoes, free and fast shipping - really I didn't think it could get much better until I was able to use 2 (at 2 different times) $20 off coupon codes to get Jenna some much needed new shoes. I got her the pedipeds and the Naturino's - both of which I absolutely love! The Naturino ones are kind of sparkly (I'm not sure you can really tell by the picture) but they look so comfy and I'm really loving them!
