Jenna and Chandler

My mom is here this weekend and Chandler is her dog. We got him one summer before my sophomore (or freshman) year in college so I think that would make him 9 years? Anyway, he is a really sweet dog and didn't mind Jenna at all. He actually kissed her several times too and she thought it was funny. She really just needs a big dog.

Mesmerized....

Wonder how I got Jenna so still and what she is looking at?? TV!!! Ah..the magical tv. She really doesn't watch much, but I record a couple of different things, so that every now and then when we're bored and have exhausted every thing else there is we can do, then we go down to the basement and watch some Noggin.

Jenna's favorite shows are:
  1. Jack's Big Music Show - probably her absolute favorite right now and this is the one she was staring at in the picture.
  2. The Backyardigans
  3. The Wonder Pets - What's going to work?? Teamwork! Yes, this is stuck in our brains...
  4. Yo Gabba Gabba - probably the least watched one

What do your kiddo's like to watch?

A Busy Tuesday!

After gymboree and Jenna's nap, we met up with Madeline at a new park we've never been to.

Seriously, this sleeping position just does not look comfortable to me at all. Her legs are completely folded up by the side of the crib mirror toy. She puts herself in all kinds of weird positions. I love to look in on her while she is sleeping!

Jenna and Madeline. They are really cute together and I hope they will become friends!
After swinging, sliding, walking, and looking at the geese (yes, I got near the geese just for Jenna), we took a snack break. Madeline was so nice to share her cheerios with Jenna!

And JM and I decided to go out and use my Ruby Tuesday B1G1 coupon. JM always writes or draws on the boxes and this one says, "Allison is KOOOOOOL as Kool-Aid." (just in case you didn't already know that.) :)

After all my slow days lately, it was really fun to have a good and fun busy day!

I think that's it for now. I now have around 150 blogs on my bloglines list so I may have missed one I was going to post, but if I did, I'm sure I'll do this again later.

Welcome Nicholas!

Our newest nephew, Nicholas, was born Friday night. On Saturday we went to go see him! He is just as cute as can be - I love his head full of dark hair! And unfortunately, I didn't get all that many great pics on my little camera - but of course, I rely on JM now to get all the great shots anyway, so I don't mind as much not getting many cute ones. And speaking of JM - he got some really great shots! I'm sure he will blog them just as soon as he can, so you'll have to check out his blog.

Jenna was interested in seeing the baby. She would peak over the bassinet thingy when I held her and she constantly wanted to touch him. The few times he would cry, she would just stop and stare. It was really cute watching her. But, we spent the majority of Saturday afternoon in the hospital room. She went a really long time without having a nap and I have to say that I'm very impressed by how well behaved she was without a nap for so long and being in the same room for about 4 hours or so. She loved this elephant and balloon.

Today, we took the new older brother out to Chuck E Cheese. This was Jenna's first time at CEC. She barely ate any of her pizza because she kept wanting to watch the music show on the stage. But when we did go play, she absolutely loved this telephone. (She loves phones at home too, so really, I can't be surprised.) She also loved watching Ski Ball. She was just happy with watching and pushing a bunch of buttons, so we really didn't even spend that many tokens on her!

And do yall remember this picture from Nov 07? I had to get JM to do it again, just so we could get another picture. Click here to see the last time we went to CEC. Wow - What a difference, huh?

Don't forget to check out JM's blog for the really good baby photos! :)

Got dressed and went out!

So, as most of you know, my car has been dead so that means Jenna and I have had to stay home for the most part of these last 2 weeks (while we've been in town here.) So, during our stay at home all days, we usually stay in pj's and lounge-y like clothes for me! So anyway, JM got home early today and my car was finally fixed so Jenna and I actually got dressed and went out!

I've been dying to put this Gap prairie brights dress on her so it was warm enough today that I thought it would be ok if I stuck a shirt underneath. And see the Robeez? I think she is too old for them, but they are the only shoes she won't pull off. Lately, every other shoe she rips off any moment she can. Same goes for the hair clippies, but she actually left this one in long enough today.

So, after paying a rediculous amount to get my car back, we went to Chili's for dinner. Jenna absolutely loves chips. No, we don't give her chips all the time, but every once in a while - anyway, she is definitely JM's child. (He LOVES chips.)

So, Jenna dined on a classic cheese pizza and fries. Oh, she did have water to drink. (Do I get bonus points for at least giving her water?....it's a joke for all the junk food you see here!)

We went to Chili's to try out the new guitless dinners. I'm a bzzagent (www.bzzagent.com) and I got free Chili's coupons to try out the guiltless dinners. JM has been counting calories lately with some fancy new app on his iphone and has 14 lbs since November! So, the guiltless dinners all have 750 calories or less. He got the buffalo chicken sandwich with veggies and he really liked it! (I was going to order one too, but the girl wouldn't let me use both my coupons in one time, even if I asked her if we could split the tickets - coupon people: does this make any sense to you? Nope, I didn't think so.)

*****************************
And in other news, JM's oldest sister had her second baby boy tonight! We are so excited to have a new nephew! I can't wait for all of 3 (Jenna + the 2 boys) to all play together!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Finished book #2

If you don't remember, my new year's resolution for this year was to read a book every month (or 12 books this year.) I just finished book #2. It was Shoe Addicts Anonymous by Beth Harbison. It was ok - had some cute parts - and definitely a spicy ending, but all in all just ok. I'd give it a 7 on a scale of 1 to 10.

JM's famous!

John Michael was recently featured in the Texas OPTI brochure. Here is what he said:

"Working with the attendings and specialists at Bay Area Medical Center is wonderful; they will always take the time to explain difficult concepts or their rationale for a specific treatment. If you are ever confused about a topic, our director, Dr. Romero makes himself available to answer any and all of our questions. And as if that wasn't enough...when you are post-call, it's only a five minute trip to the beach!"

I'm so proud of him. Honestly, it's way more than just being a doctor. I could care less about that. He is just truly a special guy. :)

He's just not that into you

JM and I are at his home and we had another opportunity to go see a movie. We went to see "he's just not that into you." JM's parents kept Jenna and honestly I don't even think she misses us when we leave. My take on the movie was not all that great. I thought it was kind of boring in a lot of places and moved really slow and also had way too many characters to keep up with. But that's just me - I can be a tough critic, but all in all I was rather disappointed. But hey, 2 movies (in real movie theaters) in 2 weekends in a ROW, isn't all that bad, so I'm definitely NOT complaining there. :)

***
oh, and for you PB people - Did you know that they built a hotel connected to the mall? Kind of strange....

****
oh, also I deleted Jenna's valentine post because the picture wasn't showing up for a lot of you all. It's from JM's online photo hosting site, and if you're not already signed in to that, it doesn't show up for everyone else and right now it's a big box that looks rather weird, so I just thought I'd delete it.

****
and Happy president's day! :)

my funny valentine

JM called me mid-morning today to tell me something was going to be delievered. Guess he knows how much I value Jenna's naptime - so I got out my uber fancy sign I made a couple of weeks back (I had a postman ring the doorbell twice and wake her up, so after that I decided to put a sign when I knew someone was coming.)

So, the sign worked because a little bit later I went out to take the dogs out and this box was on my porch. I've actually never had flowers delivered in a box before, so I was a bit intrigued.

Wow - is all I can say - these people really knew how to secure their flowers in a box. It was hard getting them just out of the box with the vase, but then my scissors couldn't cut through the plastic so I had to wiggle them up and out of there! I definitely had to work to get my flowers!

And aren't they pretty? Tulips are my favorite. I have such a sweet and wonderful husband.

Oh, and in case you are thinking, "but, it's not Valentine's day yet??" - well we are going to LA this weekend, so he wanted to go ahead and do it while we here! :)

our stay at home day

We had a complete stay at home day today because of my car. JM was driving it last night on the highway when it just died on him. He was able to call a towing service, but right afterwards his phone died and he didn't have the charger. Also, he has been on call this week and last night at midnight he had to jump out of bed and go into the hospital - he didn't get home til 3:30 a.m. and then he got back up at 5:30 and went and did it all over again. So last night was a really, horrible, no good, very bad day for him. :(

So, we did some reading today.

Lots and lots of playing with toys.

Another favorite thing to do - eating!

And of course a little bit of crying. Don't you just love the snot and the dirty pajama top?

*******************************

oh, I forgot to say that I watched Matt Logelin on Rachel Ray this morning. I've been reading his blog since probably early last summer, so it was so neat to actually hear him speak. His blog is http://www.mattlogelin.com/ if you've never heard of it. It's good to see how blogs can have such a positive impact and all that can come out of it. :)

The funny faces of Jenna

It was such a pretty day outside today, that I just had to take Jenna out for a little bit. So, I put her in one of the boutique outfits my mom got her and took some photos. We took the walker out and walked down the sidewalk, but I don't think I got really any cute pictures of that. She'd much rather just eat cheerios really, so that's a lot of what she did outside. These are just some that I thought she had the funniest expressions on her face. :)
