Another good-bye

Well, it's that time of the year again - time to say good-bye to someone else. This is the deal with being a resident/wife. It's been a lot of fun (really!) moving around, but it seems we are always saying good-bye to someone around this time of the year. Except this time, we're not the ones moving. It's our friends. I met Whitney (yes, another Whitney!) at Gymboree classes. We actually signed up on the same day. Our kiddos are 4 days apart and they actually seem to enjoy one another. Adelan kept saying "Nenna" to Jenna all day today - so cute! Anyway, Whitney's husband has completed his fellowship and will be moving on to Nebraska in a couple of weeks.

This is Adelan and Jenna. After Gymboree and nap, we met up with them in the afternoon at the Loose park spray park area.

I think Jenna is taller than Adelan!

Jenna really didn't do too much there. She did play with this for a while though. She also went swimming twice yesterday and she cried during both times. I keep telling her that she used to be a beach baby and loved it, but I guess she's had a change of heart since last year. (or maybe she just really would rather be back at the beach instead of the pools!)

And I brought them both gogurt for a snack. They both looked so cute sitting together like big kids eating their yogurt.

We'll miss you guys!

OH!! And how I could forget - we have another thing to say good-bye too! GOOD-BYE PGY2 YEAR!!!!!!! :)

Shannon's Wedding!

We went to Shannon and Barry's wedding on Saturday. Shannon was a beautiful bride and it was so much fun to see everyone!

The neat Arkansas Razorback groom's cake!

I was so happy to see everyone. It has been probably 6 or 7 years since we've all been together (and the only person missing was Cindy.) Anyway, from L to R - David, Mel, me, Jill and Matt. David started telling some of the other people (on Barry's side) stories of us hanging out - from our Tetris marathons, how he met us, and embarrasing moments. It made me a bit sad because I realize how long ago that was and how old I've gotten now!

Also, I lived with both Matt and Jill (with Cindy too) in an apartment together. I loved living with them too and JM even reminded us of the Kinko's Kenny cardboard guy that lived with us too that I completely forgot about.

Me, Shannon, David and Jill. Shannon looked amazing!

Just one of me and my wonderful hubby and his ex-girlfriend. :)

I just thought this was so cute. :)

And I also thought this picture was so cute. They were in the middle of dancing and I just so happened to get a cute shot of them.

Congrats again, Shannon & Barry! We were so glad we were able to come and we had so much fun!

Another random list post

I'm too lazy to upload any pics and nothing really exciting is going on here, so I'm making this a random list post.

  • What's going on today? Well Jenna has been sick. Not really sure what exactly, but she has been running a low-grade fever and has slept for the majority of the day and been a major cuddler today.
  • Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and now Michael Jackson? The first thing that both JM and I thought of was - Wow, it really happened in threes! Freaky! And not to mention a sad time for those families. :(
  • Do you stumble? JM told me about this neat website a long time ago called StumbleUpon.com You tell them what kind of subjects you are interested in, install a little widget by your address bar, and it randomly will pull a site for you. It's neat and another time waster for me!
  • Giveaways! The Vintage Pearl is having a week of giveaways on her site! I've also found another neat giveaway blog that features a giveaway everyday!
  • And another random thought - we've lived here now for just a little over a year already! It's hard to believe! And even more oddly enough, I miss Corpus Christi way more than I ever thought I would! (But, we also love it here too.)
Anyway, thanks for reading my rambling post! :)

Motherhood: It's a glamourous job

So today we were at the mall and I was sitting and holding Jenna in my lap. All of a sudden, I felt something wet in my lap and I realized that I had just gotten peed on. Now, I've been peed on before - but not in public and when I got up, it looked like I was the one that had wet myself. Lovely....Fun times.... (It was my fault really, because she was past due for a diaper change and one side had come off.)

Anyway, like I've mentioned I've gotten peed on before - I've also gotten pooped on, picked up her poop, cleaned the poop out of the bathtub and gotten puked on a couple of times. So for all my friends that aren't quite mommies just yet, don't worry - one day this WILL happen to you too. :)

(and sorry, there are definitely no pictures to go with this post!) :)

Friday fun

We met up with our friends, Michelle and Madeline, this morning to shop and eat lunch at Legends...(Have I mentioned how much I like the place?) Anyway, we had a fun time!

Lots of hugs and kisses for the Old Navy dog. She kept pushing the button too. Super cute.

Mads and Jenna watching tv at the Gymboree store. Why, oh, why can't every store have a little tv for kids? :)

And I think this is funny because it seems that I've gotten this look in a couple of my pictures these days - it's like she's saying, "SERIOUSLY, mom, ANOTHER photo again???"

And Jenna's absolute favorite spot - the fountains! She squeals with delight at the first sight of this thing. So, it's a must that we stop and play.

And then IT finally happened today at Target.....
I got all this for $21 - saved $16 by combining manu. coupons with the Target ones. The Dawn Dish soap, Johnsons baby wash, Dial hand soap, and California Pizza Kitchen pizza, and Colgate toothpaste were all under 50 cents each. The goldfish were the only thing I didn't have a coupon for, but they are for J. Anyway, I go to a guy as usual because as I've always thought before the guys don't care at all about the coupons. Well anyway, first he tells me I can't use 2 coupons for one thing and I have to tell him you can combine the two. And next he tells I don't have 2 of the products I got, blah, blah, blah....I think I was making him mad! (what is with me and people this week?) But I just knew the day was going to come when I would have to tell them you can use both coupons together. Aggravating! Anyway.... :)

Have a good weekend!

Our 4 year anniversary!!!

Today was our 4th anniversary. It was the first year not one of us were in Texas! HA! (1st year we went to Dallas, 2nd year we were in Corpus Christi, and last year JM was still there getting ready to move and I had already left and we were apart.)

Anyway, JM had this planned for a couple of days and wouldn't tell me. But the good sleuth (or control freak as he'd probably say) figured it out. We dropped Jenna off at our friends and they just so happen to live close to one of my favorite shopping areas, so I figured we were probably going there because it was close. Anyway, we went to eat and play at Dave and Buster's (or as we were calling it - the Chuck E Cheese for adults!) We had a blast and ended up staying there the whole time (from 6-9.)

With the game card....ready to play!

They had Deal or No Deal for tickets! We used to watch this show together all time. I won 100 tickets off it!

We had around 640 tickets so I cashed in 400something and got Jenna this little pink bear. She smiled when she saw it and hugged it. It was really cute.

I can't believe it's been 4 years already. It has been the absolute best 4 years of my life - without a doubt. And I should also say that we are not a perfect couple by any means. (He's messy - I nag him for being messy, etc, etc....) We've also had our fair share of ups and downs. But throughout everything, I think we've become a stronger couple. I definitely feel like we are much more of a team and closer than we were 4 years ago. There will be more crap that will come our way that we will have to deal with, but the most important thing is that I know we will deal with it together. Along with that, I also can not wait to share many, many more and happy fun times with him. He is truly everything to me and I look forward to many more anniversaries. I love you JMH and I'm so glad I called you that summer. :)

What is with people??

Today I had the lovely fun of going to renew my license tags.

I had to go to the insurance place first to get another copy of my insurance to take with me. The insurance agent asked me if Jenna was my only one. He then begin to tell me about his sister law being pregnant with #4 and she is only 21. And then he flat out asks me, "How old are you?" I knew immediately where this was going so I didn't even bother to mention that my birthday is in 2 weeks. I just said, I'm 28. He said, "OH....I thought you were younger." Yeah, I knew he was going to say that. I didn't even say anything else to him afterwards. I used to get this a lot and it's a been awhile since someone has said it again, but let me repeat - that no, I'll never like it. I think I'm going to start just making up my age and seeing how low I can go.

So after that, I went to get my tags renewed. I got this young guy and I could tell immediately that he must hate his job. I didn't have some of the "required" paperwork and I didn't know my license plate number and within the first 2 seconds I could tell he was not happy with me. (And all he had to do was look my info with my drivers license, so I'm not sure why they even care about that renewal form.) Anyway, I'm holding Jenna's hand and she is standing next to me. I let go of her hand for one second so I can get something out of my purse and Jenna runs away. I grab Jenna and put her on the counter with me. She is not hurting anything, my hands are free, and she can't run. But, she starts to drool on the counter. The guy gave her the dirtiest look and said, "She's drooling on MY counter." "Kids are not allowed on the counter." I said, "If I put her down, she's going to run." He then walks over to a cabinet and pulls out this box of clorox wipes and sets them down right in front of me. I said, "you must really not like kids." He then said again, "She's the one drooling on my counter." And I had to put her back on the counter for something else and he says again. "Kids are not allowed on the counter." I told him I hope he NEVER has kids. And no, I didn't even touch the clorox wipes. He was so incredibly rude about it all. God forbid I would have had 2 small kids with me.

So afterwards, to make me feel better, I stopped in a couple of stores. There is also a PetSmart right by so we went in there as well. We went in at the right time because this one has a doggy day care and they were letting the dogs play in this little area. The pictures aren't all that great, but you can kind of see the neat little area and the cute dogs. Jenna loved the dogs, as usual!

This little dog was the sweetest thing - he kept coming over to her. I think it was a pug, maybe? He was really cute and sweet.

Just because I thought her outfit was really cute! It has little ladybugs on it.

And can you see all the drool? LOL :)

Tomorrow WILL be a better day. :)

Finished book #6

I finished Secrets of a Shoe Addict this weekend. It was a good light easy read and I read the previous one before this one so I had to read this one. I do think this one was better than the first one. It was definitely more interesting and involved different characters than the other one. I'd give this one a 6.5 out of 10. :)

Weekend pics

Well techically, I guess these are just pictures from today. Yesterday we went to a picnic with one of my moms groups and JM has all the cute pictures.

Today little miss didn't wake up until 11. She went to bed a little later yesterday (around 9 or so) since we were out all day. Anyway, I figured she was just really tired so I just let her sleep - it did miss up her schedule for the rest of the day, but I think we came out ok. :)

JM worked on his research project this morning and then a photography thing later on, so most of the morning (oh, wait, I mean afternoon!!) it was just Jenna and me hanging out. So around 12:30 ish (when she normally is getting ready for her nap) we went to the park. She is having so much fun at the parks lately! She is getting so big and is able to crawl up on more things and do more. It is so much more fun now going to the parks!

After the park, we went to Kohl's (mainly because it was just close and we had nothing else going on.) I don't go in there too much, but every time I do - I think I should go there more often because they really have a lot of cute stuff. Anyway, thank goodness for this little stroller and my phone to keep her occupied.

(Ignore some of the other crap in there - it's not all mine.) So, I tried on some maxi dresses. I was in a rare trying on mood and that doesn't happen a lot with Jenna around. I was pleasantly surprised. They actually looked a lot better on me than I thought they would. (I don't feel too short after all!) I don't think I like this print after seeing it more in the picture, but now I'm hoping I can find one that I like!

After her late nap that we had to wake her from around 5, she was in a cuddly mood so we watched some Noggin together on the couch. She loves to sit with me on the couch and this has become one of my absolute favorite things we do together.

And JM working on putting a wedding album together - please note that he is wearing his 98 Key Club shirt. You would think that after being asked a couple of months ago by an Old Navy worker if he was in the key club at school, you think he'd reconsider wearing it. Nope... :)

Hope yall had a good weekend too! :)

Jenna's bathroom

After taking pictures, I realized there's really not much to show. But Kelly at Kelly's Korner blog, is having a bathroom tour today, so I thought if I was going to post these pics, might as post them on the same day! For those of you that don't know, this is all new, and I'm still working on it - so it's definitely not complete just yet! But I'm happy with how it's turning out so far!

This is my daughter's bathroom/guest bath.

It's small - so it's hard to really get any good pictures, but this is outside looking in.

I love this print! I got it off etsy. I also have a blue trashcan in there, so I'm hoping to find one more little thing with that same color blue.

The frame (the one without a picture) also came from Etsty. I just love etsy! The little pink basket I got last week at Hobby Lobby for a grand total of 50 cents!!! I think I might put some towels in it. I also need something for the other wall.

Anyway, I'm open to suggestions if anyone has any other ideas to help me get it completely finished!

An Icky but good Thursday

Guess what's wrong with this picture??? We're both wearing pants in the almost middle of June. I'm really ready for it to be blazing hot and for it to actually feel like summer.

Our small little playgroup today at Deanna Rose. It's funny because I think in most of my pictures Jenna and Madelyn are always looking at each other.

After playgroup, I was fortunate enough to get stuck in this traffic jam. Joe Biden was supposed to be here today, doing something with one of the highways. (nope, not completely sure what....) Anyway, I thought the traffic jam may have been caused by that, but again, not completely sure on that one. And see the sky - that's really how depressing it looked today. (We had some really bad storms last night.)

And what else is there to do when you are in a traffic jam? Take pictures, of course! (too bad, I don't have an iphone or I could have probably managed a nice long game of bejeweled...) Anywho, luckily this is Jenna sleeping and we didn't have to be anywhere so it didn't really matter. (oh and yes, she's still rear facing.) :)

Aren't you just enthralled by this blog post today? I'm telling you - my posts are really exciting lately. But hopefully, I might blog my new zebra bathroom tomorrow that I mentioned a couple of days ago. :)
Happy weekend!
