Oh my gosh. I have a 4 year old today. I honestly can't believe it.
So, on Saturday, we had a fun birthday party at a bounce house place (pics to follow soon.) But today was her actual birthday.
I love that I can display all of her cards now. She got the photo balloon from the bounce house.
After school today, I thought she should have a fun afternoon. Our first stop was to the humane society. I was thinking it might be a fun idea to start a new birthday tradition of helping someone/something out every year. (She still got lots of presents from her party too.) But, she loves big dogs and I've been wanting to sponsor a dog, so we did just that today! I'm not sure she fully understands the concept of these dogs not having a home, but I kept trying to tell her that we were going to help this dog, Molly, get a new home. And actually, this dog probably would have been perfect for Jenna - incredibly sweet and loving, but she needs a big fenced in backyard and has a ton of energy, (and oh, yeah, we already have 2 chi's!) Actually, there were so many other dogs there I could have also taken home with me. Anyway, so maybe this will start a new birthday tradition. :)
After that I asked her what she wanted to do next. She wanted to go to the new park with the bell. (The new Cunningham park) Oh, I should also mention that the weather today was really nice. High 60's!! That is a first on her birthday! The last 3 birthdays in KC have always been cold! I remember it snowing on her first birthday.

And we had an early dinner at Chick Fil A. She ate ALL of her chicken nuggets (which never happens), her fruit cup and drank all of her chocolate milk. Maybe now that she's 4, she will actually eat??!?
*She wears a size 4/4T. Pants and jeans are still hard to fit her. I think she actually prefers her dresses and skirts with tights anyway, so that works for us! Wears a size 9 in shoes.
*Not a regular napper by any means now. She falls asleep in the car still a lot. Sleeps with us most nights and every now and then has nightmares (I think) in which she cries out in her sleep. Also fights sleep a lot, but once she settles down and just gets quiet she will fall asleep. (This part reminds me a lot of a certain other someone in our household.)
*Loves all things girly. Loves dress up, art, and baby dolls. Loves her polly pockets, lalaloopsies, Disney princesses, my little ponies, and Hello Kitty.
*Still very social and friendly. Pretty much has the same personality altogether has her Daddy.
*But still loves books like me!
*Still loves to cuddle and is very sweet. Lately, she's been telling me, "I love you to the moon." (Or the stars, or sky, clouds, sun.....) Always melts me every time.
*Doesn't eat much at all. Favorite foods are mac & cheese, pb & j, grapes and strawberries, crackers, ham, applesauce, noodles, bread, and just about any junk food.
I can't believe 4 years have already gone by. It is true what they say, "they grow so fast..." I miss my baby Jenna, but I love the stage she is also at now. She is so fun right now. I absolutely love being her mommy! Happy Birthday Jenna! :)
